Playin’ With A New Frame APP:

A new APP led me to this late night post! HA! I really should be sleeping seeing how I have to work in the mornin’…. but nooooo I can’t seem to put my laptop down so here goes my post:

This & a little of that:

My friend Reagan over at Tunstall’s Teaching Tidbits has an AWESOME activity for graphing SO I snagged it! You can get your copy here!

Bilingual partners' worked together in their math groups to gather their data and make their graphs… it was fun!

Each group had one of the 4 questions in the activity provided and was responsible for collecting the data needed for their graphs.

My homeroom worked on contractions. I used Cara’s caaauuteee Unit “Crazy For Contractions”... you can find this cute "Contraction Crocodile" activity here!

Miss. Schaefer teaching her first lesson on the Water Cycle…she did an AMAZING job… she’s a natural!

She had students come up to the anchor chart and
identify each part of the water cycle.

Her ROCKIN’ anchor chart was the brainspiration over at “The First Grade Parade”… that Cara is super creative! I am jealous of her mad artist skills! I have none! HA!

They made a super duper cute Water Cycle Bracelet…PINTEREST inspired!

Bilingual pairs’ filled in a premade Flow Map of the Water Cycle.

MAC Center: Working on their “Math Chat PowerPoint” it goes over all the skills we are working on and learning for this 9 weeks. They LOVE to write on their desk with dry erase markers… SO hey what ever motivates them WORKS for me!

Math Games and Skills Centers:

We are working on Place Value this week so that would be an activity I would place in the “Skills Center”.

Math Games Center: Activities and games that focus just on
Math FACTS!

My Firsties LOVE to make Number Bonds and Fact Families on their desk with EXPOS! They are GOOD at it!

 Math Games Center:

Miss. Schaefer workin' on her "Skip Counting By 5's" project with bilingual pairs.

Final Product!

Our bilingual pairs are workin' hard in Spanish...check out their "Word Problems".... using Number Bonds!

Bilingual Pairs worked together to create a Word Problem using number bonds.

Groundhog Day

Well folks it looks like 6 more weeks of winter like weather coming our way....Even in TEXAS!

We started out our Groundhog Day unit with some good ole’ graphing.
I borrowed this adorable picture graph from the Overall Success a really cute blog with lots of great ideas!

Our Groundhog Predictions:

We shared our predictions with the whole school...it was really cool because we had different grade levels calling us and asking if Phil saw his shadow or not! My Firsties loved sharing with everyone that we will indeed have six more weeks of Winter!

How CAAAuuute are these! I found this adorable writing craftivity over at Miss Kindergarten's blog…love her stuff! You can get your copy of her template here. My homeroom class wrote facts about groundhogs for their writing craftivity. We read many books about Groundhog Day....so check it out!
